Corona Visions has been recycling computer electronics for over 18 years. Over the years we have always looked for solutions for how we can solve issues with our plastic material. Now that the 3D printers are easily attainable and affordable, you can print out just about anything you can dream up. These 3D printers required ABS or PLA filament to print just like the old paper printer require ink or toner. With the large amount of plastic we have to process WHY not turn it into 3D filament. When electronic equipment arrives at our facility with first decided if it has another life left in it before we send it to tear-down. If the equipment cannot be reused then we removal of all non-plastic related material. The sort by color and then plastic grade code.
Plastic is sorted by its color and its plastic grade code. We have been working on this process for a couple of years and believe that we have made some major headway in using the different types of plastic. Not all recycle plastic will work in a 3D printer. There were a lot of issues to overcome and to sort out the ones that would not work .
